Race Information - Important Note
“To be eligible to take part in the Essex County 10k Championship event you must be:
– A member of England Athletics; providing your URN when you enter the event
– Born in Essex or have been a resident in the County for over 9 months
– Have not taken part in a Another County Championship (other than Essex) event this calendar year”
Also note
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories –
- 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male; also age category winners only
- 1st, 2nd & 3rd Female; also age category winners only
- 1st Male Team
- 1st Female Team

There are very few things that you say that are constant in this life BUT if you mention the Southend 10K – and in the same breath you would mention Andy Green who died from a heart attack on 18 April 2020 aged 77.
He and his wife Mary, both distinguished athletes, were strong supporters of the 10K and its predecessor – the Southend 5 mile
