Venue Information
Venue – Southchurch Park East, Lifstan Way, Southend on Sea, Essex SS1 2XD
Race Start – The 10k race will start at 10:00am in Lifstan Way, the 3k will start at 10:05am. Please arrive at the start in good time and keep off the main road until you are requested to line up behind the chip timing mats.
Facilities – There will be are toilets available at the venue but no changing area or showers. There is also a public toilet on the course at approximately 3K and 6K.
Refreshments will be available before and after the race.
There will be a secure baggage store, but any items left will be at your own risk.
Course Description – The course is a flat, out and back, traffic- free course along Southend seafront, also incorporating a section on the wide footpaths of Gunners Park.
Marshals – There will be marshals positioned at all road junctions and key points around the course. Please obey their instructions at all times.
If you feel unwell or have a problem, please see the nearest marshal, who will make arrangements for you to return to the finishing area.
Water Stations – There will be water stations at the 3K and 6K points.
First Aid – First aid will be provided by Jubilee Medical Services, who will be present at the start and finish area and on the course. If you require medical assistance, please go to the nearest marshal, who will contact the nearest first aider.
Headphones & Music Players are only permitted if you are still able to hear any marshalling instructions and are used at your own risk.
Parking
There is parking in Southchurch Park East for approximately 200 vehicles and is a PAY AND DISPLAY CAR PARK.

When full, please park considerately in the surrounding roads and show due respect to local residents and businesses. Please follow the instructions of the carpark marshals at all times and refrain from exiting from the car park until 11.30am to ensure the safety of runners still finishing the race.
Please car share or use public transport, where possible. Please do not park on the course. The nearest train station is Southend East, which is about a 15 minute walk from the venue.
RACE NUMBER AND TIMING CHIP
The race will be chip timed and your race number and timing chip will be available for collection on the morning of the race from race HQ at Southchurch Park East from 8:00am until 9.30am. Please allow yourself plenty of time to collect your number and chip ahead of the race.
Your race number must be securely fastened to the front of your vest/T-shirt so it is easily visible on the course and in the finish area. Please complete the details on the rear of the number; this is very important, especially if you have any pre-existing medical conditions.
RACE NUMBER AND TIMING CHIP
Prizes – Results and the presentation of prizes will commence at 11.30am. Prizes will be awarded in the following categories –
- 1st, 2nd & 3rd Male; also age category awards
- 1st, 2nd & 3rd Female; also age category awards
- 1st Male Team
- 1st Female Team
